WE WALK ACROSS THE PRESIDIO & VISIT HISTORIC FORT POINT

Details
This walk was in big demand when it was scheduled for Saturday, March 15th. We did it in February for the 1st time, but it had a big waiting list. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the March walk because I caught the covid-19.
To make up for the cancelation this will be a free walk. We will do it exactly as we did it in February: gather and then start walking in front of the Presidio's Transit Center at 215 Graham Street at 11:00 AM. We will end the walk back here, our starting point, a little before 4:00 PM.
Do not be late because we will start walking at 11:10 AM. We will start walking just as we did last time by walking West on Lincoln Blvd. Then we will walk to the Golden Gate Bridge public restrooms and then under the main deck of the bridge to the old batteries to eat our sack lunches.
After our short 20-minute lunch we will visit Fort Scott to use the public restroom there and then walk back along the batteries and under the bridge deck again. Then we walk down to Fort Point to visit this free spectacular old fort that was turned into a great museum. We will be there for almost an hour.

Attendance Max = 70. One guest is allowed per member if put on the RSVP.
For most attendees the best way to get there is probably to take the free PresidiGo bus. One can get on the bus from downtown SF at 2 spots: at 50 Beale Street at 10:30 AM or the bus stop on Drumm Street in front of the Hyatt Regency near Market Street at 10:32 AM.
The bus arrives at our starting point, at 10:55 AM and it will stop to pick up passengers at a couple of other stops along the way.

Also, there are other ways to get there and return such as the SF Muni bus 43 Masonic, which also stops at our starting point. Below is a link:

About 12:30 PM we will eat our lunch. Attendees should bring a sack lunch and lots of water to drink. I love it when attendees upload photos on our website. There are lots of beautiful sights on this walk, so I encourage all to bring a camera.
We will be sure to get back to the Presidio's Transit Center before 4:00 PM because the PresidiGo bus going back to downtown SF will be leaving at 4:00 PM. These buses leave exactly half an hour apart.

We walked this beautiful area before for many years, but in recent years it became spectacular. The Presidio is now wonderful, just like the Golden Gate Park used to be years ago before it became privatized by the Botanical Garden Society.
Now the area around where we start is covered with thousands of beautiful flowers and exotic plants!
