Sun Bike Ride Old Cutler Rd Starting at Matheson Hammock Park then Lunch

Join us for a Sunday bike ride staring in Matheson Hammock Park. We will ride past Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens and pick up the Old Cutler Road Trail which will take us through beautiful neighborhoods under the tree canopy. Our turnaround point will be either Chapman Trail Dog Park or the dock at Deering Estate, where there is also a Starbucks should we need a coffee break.

Most of the ride is on the trail. Only a short portion is on the street. Expect about 18 - 20 miles.

For lunch we can stop at the Cafe at Fairchild on the way back to our cars or drive to Coconut Grove or Coral Gables which both offer an abundance of food options.

There are 2 parking lots--one when you first enter and the other at the beach near the restrooms and concessions. I suggest parking closer to the beach because of the amenities. Parking is $10 on the weekend.

Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, a bike helmet and a bike lock should we decide to stop for an early lunch in the middle of the ride.
